More Information about our School

FOES is a group of parents who plan and organise a number of school events throughout the year. They work extremely hard and give a great deal of their own time to help the school. FOES did a wonderful job last year despite the problems the area had with foot and mouth disease. The events they organised included:

Coffee mornings
Discos
Fireworks display
The Christmas party (see picture)
A barbeque
The Annual School Fete
Rounders Evening
Bring and Buy Sale

Their generous fundraising events have enabled us to purchase books and equipment, subsidise school trips and helped with swimming costs.
We have strong links with all of our local schools, especially with Lady Hawkins High School in Kington which is about 5 miles down the road.
Many events are organised at Lady Hawkins for the children in our school and the other schools in the cluster. Some of these include:

Open days for parents and children
Visits by the High School staff to discuss their school with the parents and children
Induction courses over two days
A science challenge day (see picture)
A music challenge day
A midsummer 'Comic Capers' sports day
A music centre for our pupils

There are plenty of other activities. See the news pages for future events!
To help the children to learn more about the rest of the world we actively encourage and foster links with communities in other parts of the world.

At present we have links with two other countries.

Recently we have been in touch with a village school in New Zealand, thanks to contacts forged by one of our regular supply teachers who taught there for a while.

We have also been in contact with a school in Manhatten and as well as written e-mails, we have also sent video e-mails via our webcam.
